Team Leader & Senior Development Communications Consultant

Natasha Murigu has spent over 14 years helping civil society organisations across Kenya and East Africa tell stories that matter, and that move people to act. As the team lead of Nariel Advisory, she works at the place where strategy meets storytelling, helping organisations turn complex programme outcomes into narratives that build credibility, grow audiences, and unlock funding.

She is particularly skilled at bridging the gap between community voices and the funders, partners, and policymakers who need to hear them.

What she does
Natasha supports organisations to develop communications strategies aligned with their mission, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and build the internal capacity to sustain their own storytelling over time. Her work spans development communications strategy, impact storytelling, and team training.

  • Contributed to influencing and mobilising over $5 million in funding, with institutional fundraising support exceeding KES 900 million

Natasha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from USIU-Africa and has undertaken postgraduate studies in Development Communications at Daystar University. She also consults with Inclusion Unfolding – Africa.

Debrah Metto brings together editorial instinct and production craft in a way that is rare in the development sector. With over 10 years of experience spanning broadcast media and development communications, she helps organisations communicate their impact through stories that are not just well told, but genuinely seen and heard.

A bilingual scriptwriter and voice-over artist in both English and Kiswahili, Debrah brings cultural fluency and creative range that makes her work accessible to diverse audiences across digital and broadcast platforms.

What she does
Debrah supports organisations to design and deliver communications strategies, produce high-quality multimedia content, and deepen audience engagement. Whether she is crafting a documentary, developing a digital campaign, or shaping written materials, she brings the same commitment to clarity, relevance, and impact.

  • Produced over 70 episodes of nationally broadcast television programming with Nation Media Group
  • Led documentary and reality TV productions spotlighting Kenyan stories and social issues
  • Supported multiple organisations in building stronger communications platforms and producing impact stories that bridge technical development work and public understanding

Debrah is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Development Communications at Daystar University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Communication from Tangaza College – Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

Data and Systems Specialist for Evidence-Based Storytelling

Patience Mwangi works at the intersection of data and communications, helping organisations bring structure and clarity to the information behind their impact. Her work focuses on ensuring that data is not only accurate, but also organised and accessible in a way that supports reporting, storytelling and decision-making.

With experience supporting multi-country development programs, she works with teams facing fragmented and inconsistent data, structuring it into reliable systems that support evaluation, reporting, and evidence-based communication.

What she does
Patience designs data systems, cleans and structures complex datasets, and develops dashboards and reporting tools that enable teams to track progress, demonstrate results, and use data more effectively.

Selected career highlights

  • Consolidated and structured five years of multi-country programme data across Africa, Latin America, and MENA, improving visibility for evaluation, reporting and learning
  • Designed automated reporting templates and dashboards, reducing manual reporting effort and improving data consistency
  • Trained and supported 25+ volunteers and six regional centres in digital data collection during a crisis response, strengthening data quality and decision-making
  • Converted large-scale government budget records into structured datasets, enabling year-on-year analysis and evidence-based reporting for multi-billion-shilling allocations

Patience holds a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and has additional training in data analytics, AI and digital tools for development..
